Nerves That Pass Through Muscles
Median nerve •passes between the 2 head of pronator teres and supplies it. Ulnar nerve •passes between the 2 heads of flexor carpi ulnaris and supplies it. Posterior interosseous nerve •passes between the 2 heads of supinator and supplies it. |
Notes
•It passes in front of the Brachial Artery and at the elbow is medial to it
•It passes between the 2 heads of pronatorteresand supplies it.
•It supplies all muscle of the anterior compartment of the forearm except
•FCU and
•Medial(ulnar) part of FDP
•It has branches in the forearm:
•Articular branches- to elbow joint as median nerve passes it
•Muscular Branches- to pronator teres, then a nerve bundle pierces superficial muscles to innervate FCR, PL and FDS
•Anterior Interosseous Nerve- runs on interosseous membrane with with anterior interosseous branch of ulnar artery
•It supplies FDP except ulnar part that sends tendons to 4thand 5thfingers
•It supplies Pronator quadratus
•Then sends branches to the wrist joint
•Palmar cutaneous branch of Median nerve
•Arises proximal to flexor retinaculum and is distributed to the skin of the central part of the palm
